Summary: When we booked this property we were under the strong impression it was a holiday rental. When we arrived we realised it was the hosts’ permanent residence. This was not clear in the description of the property and the host has since changed this to ensure future guests are aware and can make an informed decision prior to booking. We were very disappointed we did not get this opportunity and were mislead by the description of the property. The host did describe the property as ‘our home’ in one communication I had with them prior to our arrival but I understood this was because I was communicating with the ‘owner’ of the home given the nature of the Stayz platform.It was a very poor start to our first family holiday in Sydney to discover partially opened food in the fridge and cupboards and lots of personal belongings throughout the house. Not at all the “luxury” being promoted in the listing description when we booked. The beds are very uncomfortable and the linen and towels very basic. Overall this was a very overpriced and disappointing experience.
