Welcome to Lobster Pot Cabin, A relaxing, thoughtfully created stay with direct access onto the sheltered Swanwick River overlooking Dolphin Sands. Watch the most spectacular sunsets, walk along the water’s edge, swim, kayak, or fish from straight out the front while enjoying this quiet and peaceful location. The perfect base to explore Coles Bay and the Freycinet Peninsula.
Located in the sleepy hamlet in Swanwick Bay on the stunning East coast of Tasmania, our cabin is perfect for all seasons. In the warmer months enjoy afternoons relaxing on the deck and nights sitting around the fire pit soaking in the serenity. Fish from the local jetty just a 100 meter walk up the river. Sandpiper beach is a 5 min walk around the water’s edge. There is an outdoor shower to rinse off after a swim in the river. In the cooler months cosy up inside and settle in by the fire with a book.
The open plan kitchen encompasses a dining and lounge area, all with views out to the bay and capturing sun all day. We are fully self-contained and well equipped for short or longer stays. Grab yourself some fresh seafood from the local Freycinet Marine Farm just a few minutes’ drive from the shack and cook up your own meals in our spacious newly renovated kitchen with all the amenities you’ll need. With two bedrooms we can comfortably sleep up to 4-5 guests. Wake up to the sunrise in our master bedroom which boasts a queen-sized bed and exhibits a beautiful outlook of the bay. While our second bedroom houses a bunk bed, double on the bottom and single on top. Perfect for couples and small families.
Designed around the Lobster Pot theme the interiors of the cabin are styled with our collected treasures, vintage and bespoke finds. We have created this space with much love, beautiful linens, and locally sourced products for you to relax and enjoy.
Lobster Pot Cabin is the perfect base to discover and explore the iconic Freycinet National Park and Wineglass Bay. The magnificent Hazards of Coles Bay, all right on your doorstep. Be as busy as you want or do as little as you please.

We recommend having a car when staying in Swanwick and exploring the East Coast of Tasmania. As public transport is limited.
Shampoo, conditioner, hand and body wash is locally Tasmanian made by Lentara skincare.
We supply a basic pantry of a variety of teas, fresh ground coffee, coffee pods, hot chocolate, olive oil, salt, pepper, marshmallows for toasting over the fire.
